Sheryl - Office Manager

Sheryl - Office Manager

I have been under regular chiropractic care since I was 22 years old. I am now in my sixties. I have lived with type 1 diabetes since the age of 12, free of complications.

Why do I like to work in our office? Let me tell my story.

My first adjustment was never for back or neck pain, but for a bad head cold. I was so stuffed up and couldn’t breathe. I thought that was a crazy idea, but someone told me to see a chiropractor. If my cold doesn’t change I win, but if it improves after the adjustment I lose. Well, I lost. Before I left the office, my nose was running and I needed a bunch of tissues. I knew right there and then that chiropractic works and whether you think so or not, it still does. Additionally, I went through two pregnancies with regular chiropractic care right up until my children were born and had no complications. I have remained flexible and limber, and have not experienced any back or hip pain in life so far.

I am a strong believer in chiropractic care, and know it is as important as brushing your teeth. It is a privilege to encourage patients to take charge of their health. I love to see the turn-arounds and transformations patients experience, like the baby Sebastian– who suffered a stroke at birth, and couldn’t crawl, or do much on his own at eight months. When his mother came into the office she had tried everything, and was in tears. After daily adjustments, Sebastian crawled for the first time at ten months old in our office, and started to pull himself up. His arm was functioning, Everyone was in tears! Being at the front desk is a blessing. Each and every patient is unique, important, and intelligent, and deserves to move and function at their personal best. I am just lucky enough to be part of the journey.

Pillow Recommendations

While pillows are highly individual, depending on your overall sleep position, there are general rules of thumb and preferences we can suggest. I get no compensation for these recommendations. Several are products we, or people we know, have used.

Let’s start with this: A good pillow is important for several reasons:
  • Sleep + Quality: A full night’s sleep, no matter how you’re getting it is priority #1. Your pillow needs to be comfy and when your head hits it, your neck should relax.

  • Spinal Alignment: Proper pillow support can help maintain proper spinal alignment, reducing the risk of back and neck pain. Many of us aren’t using the proper size pillow. For example, If you are sleeping on a shoulder with an arm under your head, you’re probably not using a tall enough pillow.
